 21 hectares (158 Acres)

This property is called a Geothermal Property. Hot Spring, Geothermal Hot Spring, Nartural Hot Mineral Spring. Geothermal energy is literally the heat contained within the earth that generates geological phenomena on a planetary scale. Geothermal resources have three main components:
1. Heat source
2. Fluid carrying heat from the earth’s crust to the surface
3. Sufficient rock permeability to circulate thermal water.
In geothermal areas, hot rocks and high temperature groundwater are at shallow depths.

This Farm is situated in close proximity to Naboomspruit (now called Mookgophong) just South of the Waterberg area which is 160 km North, North East of Pretoria. Oliver Tambo International (previously known as Johannesburg International) Airport is only 195 km away by tarred road and 20 minutes away by chartered aircraft.

The farm consists of 1 title deed - (there are another two adjoining portions also for sale which is registered in the Seller’s private name and the one is registered in the Seller’s Private Trust- NOT VAT registered.
Province: Limpopo Province
Servitude’s:  a Tar road subdivide is diving all three portions – this gives good access to the property.

This property has very little developments on it. The property does have a small house on it. This house is neat and fenced off. The house has one bathroom and two bedrooms, a kitchen and lounge area.

Development Opportunity
With a Geothermal energy source the development potential is endless like;

Hot Spring Resorts – Developing holiday destinations where there is a Geothermal source.

Greenhouses – Farmers have used water heated by geothermal energy for hundreds of years to grow vegetables in the winter.

Fisheries – Geothermal energy is also used in fish farms (Aqua Farming). The warm water spurs the growth of animals ranging from alligators, shellfish, tropical fish, amphibians to catfish and Tilapia.

Industrial use – Industry is another consumer of geothermal energy. Its uses vary from drying fruits, drying vegetables, drying wood, and dying wool and extracting gold and silver from ore.

Hot springs are graded in general on four quality parameters:
1. Temperature of the water (usually the lower temperature sources from 25-51 degrees Celsius and then those that is scalding hot from 52 degrees Celsius upward). The higher the temperature the more uses there are and the higher the value of the geothermal source (hot spring). (the diagram in the fact pack illustrates this very well)

2. Volume of water. The higher the volume (measured by litres per hour)  the more uses there are and the higher the value of the geothermal source.

3. Sensorial quality.  Determine with your senses (e.g sight and smell) does the water have a bad smell (e.g. Like Sulphur, which hot springs often have) and sight, e.g  is spring water clear or murky ?. The cleaner and clearer the water with the least amount of smell the higher the value of the geothermal source.

4. Intrinsic quality of water.   Chemical composition of the water. The chemical composition will be unique to every hot spring and based of the chemical composition a specific hot spring will be more suitable for some applications than other.

This is a jewel in renewable energy waiting to be developed…

The farm roads give good access to all sections of the farm. The farm has several kilometres of roads plus plenty of additional trails which is maintained. The Tar road passes through the property  - both sides of the road has access.

There are a total of 3 boreholes. Two is Cold water from which only the one is equipped. The 3rd borehole is the Geothermal borehole which is measured at 50 000 litres per hour at 51˚C (Degrees Celsius). Geothermal Test and results are available on request.

The property also borders a perennial river and there is a water pit (fountain) in the mountains.

There are prepaid electricity as well as 2 three phase transformers (1 x 50 KVA and 1 x 25 KVA)

The farm is mostly flat on the one side of the tar road. The other side is more mountainous with roads all over – it has a remarkable biome and savannah diversity with stunning views over the Waterberg Mountains in the north

It is a rare occasion that such a property ever comes on the market. To rethink our future and then seeing this property, one can only imagine that investing in a geothermal source will be a future income source with a promise of profitability both from and economical and an environmental perspective.
